Guest AnDYy187 Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I have a BlackJack for Cingular and I tried to install the Pocketnester, and Regedit .exe's and I have tried installing them via PC and through the phone itself and will not let me, I have been trying for a hour or so and am getting frustrated, if you can help I would appericate it. When I goto run it through Via PC, it says its not a vaild win32 application and when I put it on the phone it does not show up and unless I search and when I run it it does nothing. Thanks in advance ;)
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Welcome to the forum ;) These are not the standard MS installers, rather they are the programs themselves. What I would do is copy them onto my storage card using ActiveSync. Then right-click the icon and select Copy. Then browse to \Storage \Windows \Start Menu (\Accessories or another sub-folder if preferred) and right-click again. Select Paste Shortcut. You can rename the shortcut to just the application name and it will now show up in your Programs list from where it will run as normal.
Guest AnDYy187 Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 when I installed the DLL to view the files it said it was suppose to be used on a older version of windows mobile, but i still installed it, when i drop the files to my storage card or anywhere else on the phone they are not viewable
Guest nickcornaglia Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 1) You dont install DLLs.*** 2) You need to view hidden files to see some file types. Get a file browser like RescoExplorer to do that. 3) Some install exe's install from the PC. When you click them...the app installs and unpacks onto the phone. 4) Some exe's are self contained program files. Just copy the to the phone and run them. Best to put the in a folder under Program files on the phone or storage card and create a shortcut to the exe file. (As DiscoStu said) 5) cab files are dropped onto the phone via activesync. Click on them from a file browser on the phone and they will install. ***you do drop dll's on the phone for certain things...but more for advanced purposes.
