Guest MitchellO Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 I know there is the i607 "Blackjack" in the USA which has the 850/1900Mhz UMTS frequency, and the i600 has the 2100Mhz UMTS frequency, but my question is does the i600 only come in a 2100Mhz UMTS version? Everywhere I look at it says that it has UMTS/HSDPA, but only a handful say the actualy 2100Mhz frequency, so I wanted to make absolutely sure that when I pick one up from Expansys that it will be 2100Mhz UMTS . Cheers

Yes, the SGH-i600 has always 2100 MHz UMTS/HSDPA. - SGH-i600: 2100 MHz UMTS - SGH-i601: 850 MHz UMTS (for Telstra / Australia only) - SGH-i607: 850 + 1900 MHz UMTS I wish Samsung would make their smartphones UMTS tri-band. Even my HTC Hermes (O2 XDA Trion) had already UMTS tri-band last year. Edited April 29, 2007 by tw
Guest MitchellO Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) As does my Treo 750v. I don't quite understand why Samsung would muck around with all these different versions of the same device. I mean the i600 has WiFi, but the i601/607 don't, which is another thing I am sure some are annoyed about. Honestly with cheap data rates and speedy HSDPA I couldn't care less about WiFi on my phone anymore. But thanks for answering my question. Hopefully the money for my Treo comes through soon so I can place the order! Edited April 29, 2007 by MitchellO
