Using BlackberryConnect while connected to activesync

I am a happy blackberry connect user on my MPX220. Whenever I activesync with the PC via USB, the BB Connect service automatically goes to "Blocked" status. Is there a way to have it remain connected while activesync is also connected? I already checked the "allow the device to connect wirelessly while activesync is connected" in the activesync connection settings options. Interestingly, when I activesync using bluetooth, BB Connect remains connected.

If you are curious, I have True Connect installed to display the phone on my PC (when activesync is connected) and it would be great if I can answer personal emails I get on my phone from the PC.
