how to download a file with internet explorer?

Hi,

I know its a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to download a file using internet explorer... If I "click" on a link it gives me an error or it doesn't do anything...

..please help...

for example a zip file from my webmail client... or like skype from skype website (the one with the download popup). Cant explorer handle these? in that case...what do you use as web browser?

I use IE or Opera... when I try and download it either works or I at least get an error if it's an unsupported file type?

You might find that the website you are trying to download from needs to add a a MIME type for the file type you are trying to downloading.
