but I have been modifying homescreens in the applicationdata/home/ directory & copying them back onto my WM device, but the homescreen doesn't change.

Am I putting them in the wrong folder, or what?

The name doesn't show up in the list? Are they saved as [name].home.xml?

Are you changing the name of the revised homescreen ?

I don't think over-writing the file is enough as Smartphones create a separate file of the current homescreen (hif files ?) and this might be why your screens aren't changing.

when i created my first theme for my vox, i had the same problem. solved this way :

after i put the modified xml from MY skin back on my vox (default folder) i have to select and load ANOTHER skin and then , only after that, reload MY skin to see te changes.

very annoying but the only way i found until now.
