why does active sync 4.5 never let you use internet thru usb?

well it used to work, but now it doesnt. i had to install 4.2 to make it work again. it did this a while back when i used to use the 4.5 beta, i would need to go back to 4.2.

usually it will work just fine at first and then one day it stops working. i suppose it's alright now since its working with 4.2 but that just confuses me why it does this.
