Poor signal strength on the E650

My E650 seems to have a much lower signal strength that my C600 had when I'm using it in exactly the same place (i.e. my office). The phone seems to spend half the time searching for a signal when it used to have 3 bars at least. It also drops the signal every time I have a calendar reminder come up then has to re-search. Has anyone else noticed anything similar on their handsets?
