Guest sasha_kr Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Hello I did my best to search this forum, and some others in order do unllock the Cingular HTC 3125 smart phone. I purchased the phone on e bay. It is a new phone and I am trying to use it with Rogers Canada. There are instructions on how to edit the registry on this forum - http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=245955 I tried those registry settings, rebooting the phone, running the SDA_Application Unlock, and rebooting again. When I reboot once again, this time with SIM in it, I get the same message "SIM Lock" on top and main message "Network is locked. Please input unlock code". Also, I am noticing that once I have been through the process, and I go back to reg editing, the values have been changed back to initial values. I also found a posting with different registry settings at: http://wiki.spv-developers.com/HTC_Application_Unlock_Guide . When I do the same drill again, I end up with the same result. Not sure if it matters, but I have been using an unlocked phone (MPX200) with this SIM card for a while (and was able to swap other cards in/out) without any problems. I didnt unlock the MPX200, someone did it for me... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 You need to SIM UNLOCK your phone to use it with another carrier other than Cingular. The instructions you mentioned are for APPLICATION UNLOCKING which lets you run unsigned apps on the phone. I havnt been keeping up on free options for this phone but there is always HTTP://WWW.IMEI-CHECK.CO.UK to SIM unlock it.
