Help with GPS application on Vario II

Hi all,

I'm trying to write a GPS application for my Vario II, and have come a little un-stuck in a couple places.

Firstly, when the screen timeout kicks in, the application stops and the connection to the GPS device is lost. Can someone point me in the direction on how to allow the application to run in the background, even when the device is locked?

Secondly, can anyone point me in the direction of how to create a deployment package for the application? It's all written in C# using Visual Studio 2005 and the 2.0 .NET Compact Framework.

Tertiary, can someone point me in the direction of how my application can initial an HTTP/Web Service request over the users GPRS connection (Web'n'Walk)?

Lastly, anyone got a pointer on how to export a NMEA log file to a KML file?
