I have just upgraded my mobile from an SE 810i and i'm regretting my decision. The only girpe i had with my old phone was the screen size. I explained to the sales assistant what i wanted from my phone, mainly to use it a a music player and to send and recieve emails. We narrowed down the choice to the SE 950 with 4gb memory or the SPV M700 that would take a mini SD card of any size. I decided on the SE 950 mainly because i was so happy with my old SE 810. I dont know what possesed me, but as the sales man was filling in the paper work i changed my mind and went for the SPV m700 and am now gutted. Firstly i put in my newly aquired 4gb card. It was recognised, i transfered some files to it. But they, and the card dissapeared. where did they go????????. I then put in a newly bought 1gb card and so far it has remained functioning. But the biggest issue i have with this phone is the quiality of audio playback. Well, i would have to give the SE 810 10/10 and the m700 -10/10. It is absolutly rubbish, it is like strapping 2 old transistor radios to my ears. I listen to music in work all day every day, and the SE 810 was an absolute pleasure to use and listen to, but the m700 gives me a headache after 5 minutes. There doesn't even seem to be an equaliser in media player. I down loaded another mediaplayer that had an equaliser, but adjusing any of the settings just distorted the sound. To me, this phone is useless if the sound quality is this bad. It realy does not do any thing my old phone couldnt do. Ok, the screen is bigger so emails are easier to read and web pages are actually readable....but using it to actually ring someone is a pain in the arse, does it support profiles, so i can quickly change from ring to vibrate when i go into a meeting????? windows mobile seems to be a lot of fuss to do simple tasks......Anyway, if anyone can give me some advice about improving sound quality then i'll probably be somewhat placated

Cheers

number1, there are issues with 4Gb miniSD cards with the M700 - my mate had the same issue. Works fine with a 2gb card though.

As for the sound, yes its very tinny, but there are some patches that fix the sound.

Worked a treat for me!!! Only issue is, if you do a hard reset, you need to re-apply the patches. I keep them on my PC and SD card.

No idea, worked fine for me. Did you install them in the correct order?

I apologise in advance for what may seem like a silly question to some, but i am new to PDA type fones. When you say install the files, are they self installing. If they are self installing do i run them from the fone?

Any help appreciated as I can't put up with this tinny &*$# much longer

Steve
