Orange SPV m3100 update failed - need recovery help pls.

Hi. I downloaded and started install of the Orange SPV M3100 ROM update today, from www.business.orange.co.uk .

I ran the update, completed the verification checks and the update started .... yay. Then along comes Mr.Clumsy self and dislodged the USB cable at 16%. ROM Connection error occurred, ran the recovery procedure part of the program (disconnect battery, recovery checks etc), said recovery was successful now re-run the upgrade

The upgrade program ran some verification checks and stops to tell me ERROR 294 : Invalid Vendor ID N-N-27

It didn't do this at the start, otherwise upgrade wouldn't have commenced and got to 16%, I've now got the 3 colour bootloader screen with USB displayed......there is no image left on my mobile to "upgrade" from since the upgrade terminated mid way through.

Does anyone know how to get round this please. Desperate.

Phone: Orange SPV m3100

Bootloader says HERM100 (IPL-1.10)

HERM100 (SPL-1.09) in yellow text.

Phone is well dead, upgrade facility stops now because it can't detect what image to update from because there isn't one.

I would hard reset the device and start again.....???

As it was an upgrade to an offical Orange update - I would ask Orange.

Also, take a look at the "I bricked my Hermes" thread over on XDA developers.

have to agree with crazyz - O should help, if they can't xda dev will have the answers.
