Need to copy and paste a string

Bit of a weird on here. Have the Dash running the WM6 update.

I'm trying to connect to my wifi network. My wifi network uses a long key with many differnt chars and symbols. For some reason, when typing in the net key, when I go into the symbol section to select a symbol the wifi connection wizard quits.

So I install Vito copy and paste in the hopes that I can copy the string from a txt file on my phone and paste it into the network key section.

My problem is, if I have the string in notepad and open it up, when I hold down the action key all it does is enteres a row of spaces and will not bring up the vito commands. I've even created a small html file with a text box in a form with the key as a default value but again, when I hold down the action key it just starts spaceing!! I've also tried word and excel mobile.

Anyone any idea how to get around this? Changing my net key isn't really a route I want to go down.
