Guest nehvada Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 if you enable this option in the settings it doesnt charge at all, if connected to any kind of charger. but after changing the registry values over here: HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\usbfndrv\EnableUsbCharging = 0 (DWORD decimal) everything just works as intended. it charges over wallcharger, but not while conected to my pc. plus i can change the regular settings to enable or disable and it works just as it should. can anybody confirm this little bug?
Guest KillBait! Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 (edited) Never had to mess about with the registry on my S710 to get that option to work. Changed it in the menu and worked first time! Did this happen on an E650? Edited May 13, 2007 by KillBait!
Guest jonokimber Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Out of interest why would you want to disable charging over USB? Thanks - Jono
Guest Mysterious Stranger Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Out of interest why would you want to disable charging over USB? So as not to drain a laptop's battery perhaps? Dunno how much a 'parasitic' USB charging SPV @500 mA would shorten the runtime of a laptop but if your laptops' battery is low and your SPV ain't it's worth disabling if you need to use the SPV as a modem, for instance. Guest jonokimber Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Yep, that was the only reason i could think of too. I always have my laptop plugged in even though i have to travel a lot as its a real guzzler and the battery is crap. Its one of the bigger Dell power supplies too and it weighs a ton. But, i couldn't even go a few hours without it so i'm done for really. Oh well. wont be needing the option i mentioned anwyay!
