HTC s710 - How to turn off Wi-Fi autostart

Hey there!

Can anyone tell me how to keep my HTC s710 from activating Wi-Fi on startup?

Even if Wi-Fi is turned off it boot up again with activated Wi-Fi.....

No one else with this prob? I dont see any programm starting the wi-fi on bootup.......

sorry mate.. you might be in a small minority on this one.

I've had mine for about a month now and its never done that - and i havent spotted any posts here on it either.

Check in the windows startup folder and see if somehow a link to wifi somehow got placed in there. If there is one, move it somewhere else (ie the my document folder is a good place). Don't delete it yet until you're sure that removing it doesn't cause other problems since it's possible that some program you installed put it there for a purpose. I doubt it will cause any problems but it's better to be safe and just move it first.

Nice idea, but it doesnt work.

I removed the wifiinit.lnk and WiFi didnt auto-enable on startup: But then I wasnt able to activate wifi at all...

So i placed the shortcut in the autostart folder again...

Yeah, wifiinit.lnk is supposed to be in there. I'm wondering if it could be another link for something you installed that may be doing it, something that uses wifi. It would probably still be in the startup folder.

I have just an opposite problem: after restarting s710 with celetask wifi is not tuned on. It was on before restart.
