Guest nuttyphilt Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 One thing that annoys me about my C600 is that it doesn't have a visiting time zone setting... therefore when I travel overseas my appointments don't re-jig themselves for the new time zone. However on my M3100 I can select a 'visiting time-zone' and all my appointments sort themselves out - very very useful because I do a lot of travelling overseas and have meetings with people in the US/Australia/etc, across different time zones. Can somebody do me a favour and see if the Vox has this? It's one of those small things that could be a show stopper for me... Thanks.
Guest conan_troutman Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 probably wont but you could always use a third aprty applet and beleive me there are loads here are a few JC alerts city time alarms fizz traveller these are the three I find most suitable for what you want
Guest nuttyphilt Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Thanks, but I'm hoping it's build into the OS instead of having to use a 3rd party app.
Guest conan_troutman Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 you dont get it do you...let me explain this to you microsoft dont add things that would be useful with each operating upgrade they remove the useful stuff each time... it started when WM5 lost the ability to Synch items filtered by category, which 2k3 could do. WM6 no longer has headset profiles and car profiles...so what make you think for one minute microsft would add something as useful and comlictaed as what you are asking for. sheesh
Guest nuttyphilt Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 No, I do get it... WM6 Professional (and WM5 Pocket PC) has a visiting time-zone option. WM6 Standard (and WM5 Smartphone) doesn't (or maybe WM6 does but I can't get a straight answer). I thought the 2 platforms were slowing moving together in terms of functionality but maybe I'm wrong. Can somebody please just take a quick look for me? Thanks.
Guest ombre33 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 it doesn't. there is an option "automatic time zone" or similar, but obviously that doesn't do anything if checked..
Guest ombre33 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 well actually.. im not sure i got you right yet.. what is it that you are asking? if you want the appointments to kinda "move" when you move (e.g. appointment in your home time zone is at 12:00 and you move 3 time zones, then it will be 9:00 or 15:00 respectively) then i can tell you the s710 does do that. if you want that appointment to stay at twelve (since that is when you have to take your pills or god knows what) then i have to tell you it doesn't. hope that makes it clear..

To clarify... For example, I'm in the UK and have a weekly call with the US at 5pm (UK time), 12pm (Eastern time). Now say I actually go to the US for this meeting in person, I want to change the clock on my phone when I arrive so it shows local time. I also want this appointment to move - so that it will show as 12pm. Currently my C600 will keep the appointment at 5pm - no bloody use! What you've said with the S710 sounds like it'll meet my needs. Thanks for looking into it. Edited May 25, 2007 by nuttyphilt
