Guest thm Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 i'm using active sync set to update every 15 minutes and a 1 minute gprs disconnect. however as soon as AS made its first connection gprs stays connected all the time. anyone knows how to solve this?
Guest Looby Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 A common issue. If you go to Comm Manager and switch the phone(2) off then on it switches the GPRS off.
Guest MECX Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 does holding the red button down not disconnect the GPRS?
Guest Latentk Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Hearing all this talk, I am kind of nervous about my first AT&T bill since getting the device. I never turn the phone off in the CM. I am hoping all the times I have used Messenger, IE, and IRC it did not use the GPRS connection alone, as that could cause a very large bill....
Guest xeno1 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Latentk I don't think you have to really worry about the GPRS they are talking about. In the U.K. and Europe they charge them by the kilobyte for data usage. It's not the same here in the U.S. If you have an internet plan with your service then it's usually unlimited and if you don't have an internet plan then your internet simply just doesn't work.
Guest cldchc Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 to resolve this problem: Go to: HKLM-->Comm-->ConnMgr-->Planner-->Settings-->SuspendResume and delete ~GPRS! value. This value was couseing phone to keep active gprs connection by any meanings. When you delete it, red button will close the connection again
