Sound (Ringer Problem)

I'm not sure if the windows mobile version is old; or I don't have a sound driver installed or what but there is no sound for my MDA Compact II; the vibrate option works and calls work tho sound seems echoy and distant. Is this an existing problem for this model? Was like this out of the box; just haven't remedied it being busy and a tad of lazy :P
