Guest jaanos Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 My Imate jam has faulty phone signal, most of the time it is out of service even though the unit is stationary and in central Brisbane where all other phones on Vodafone get full bars of reception. Soft reset, hard reset and operating system update have not fixed the issue. Sometimes after hard reset it will show full reception but drop out shortly afterwards only to come back to full bars for a short period of time maybe 10minutes later…………… then drop out again… etc. sometimes I can make calls but very rarely. Has anyone else had issues like this with there Imate or any other phone? At first I thought it may be a loose connection internally but it happens weather the device is laying stationary or in my pocket. ROM problem? should i try to roll back or download an old version of software? Or should i just send it away for repair? out of warranty though...... Any idea how much ths should cost approx????? Thanks in advance. Jaan
Guest xeno1 Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 One thing you can try is flashing a new radio version. It's simple to do, it won't cause you to lose any data on your phone, and if changing it doesn't show any improvement then you know that it's more than likely a hardware problem rather than software and you'll know for sure whether you should send it in for repairs or not. Since, I believe, your k-jam and a wizard are the same phone, here is a link over to xda-devs website where you can download and try out quite a few different ones: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=268031 If you need any help with flashing the radio ROM or some of the download links don't work let me know. I've done quite a bit of flashing of my phone and I have all of the radio roms that have in that post plus a few more.
