Need help with a phone!

I'm looking to get a phone that will be as good as my C500 is. My C500 is a little battered up now with a dented case, crackly speaker etc and I want a smartphone which will be just as good as it, if not better. Is there an upgrade from the C500? I have seen the C600 but I really wanted to try and get a phone which can take decent pictures including a flash on it. Is something like a C700 being released any time soon?

If your going to stick with smartphones there isnt much choice. The C700 (HTC MTEOR) was actually cancelled due to battery and heat problems and only had a 1.3mp camera and also had no flash.

The only other Smartphone option from orange is the SPV E650 (HTC VOX) which does actually have a 2mp camera but alas no flash. It is one of the best smartphones out there as it has a massive range of features with its party trick being the slide out keyboard and rotating screen.

Your best off moving to the Pocket Pc side of things if you wish to get decent cameras with flash.

pocket pc's are a little big for me. Are there any plans to move forward with the spv 'c' range of phones or do I just need to wait and see?

Doubtful because as you can see from the news post orange are taking on the HTC Excalibur as the Orange SPV E600.

It looks like they are carrying on with the E's from the SPV E100 etc.

not looking good then for the future of the 'C' series :rolleyes:

maybe i'll have to move away from the smartphones becuase dont really like the pda chunky style phones. unless i can get the speaker and the case etc on my phone replaced then maybe theres a chance i can save my C500

Why do you need something from the C series on Orange?

Smartphones seem to be really limited when it comes to cameras. I should have done this last time I posted but looking on a mobile search engine it seems there are only 3 smartphones with a 2mp camera and flash, these being the:

Samsung i310

also ther are rumours thats RUMOURS of the HTC Wings (s730) coming at some point which is WM 6 built in GPS 2.0 MP camera with flash and a front facing camera plus a much larger CPU closer to a PPC but still a smart phone infact its more or less in the VOX skin. but it just a rumour can you wait for a rumour to become reality I am giving it till xmas to find out.

i was thinking of changing over to a song ericsson or something like that with a nice camera. the only main reason i wanted to keep the smartphone range was because you can put tomtom mobile on them and i find it really useful

Yeh windows mobile is sucky when it comes to cameras eh!

Cant symbian phones run tomtom? I believe they can.

As in Nokia phones? I'm not too keen on them really.

What about the C600? How is that compared to the C500 because I think I might be able to get the parts for my C500 or do you think its better to get the C600?
