Active Sync troubles?

Maybe you already found this out, but if you have a home network, active sync CAN disable some things. For me: after connecting by USB (to sync music) every time the internet connection was lost; not only on my laptop but also all the other (2) computers who were wireless connected to the router.

Solution: Start-Settings-Connections- More-USB to PC: DISABLE the advanced networking functionality (no idea if I spell all this right; I translated it from my Dutch E650).

Did the trick for me! No more connections lost of all the pc's....

This might help with ye olde AOL problem too

I'm wondering if it will help me set up Activesync via BT at work - I'm still unable to get the service show up in the device properties.

DONT DO IT!!!

i've unchecked that box to see if the BT connection would then work and it has totally borked my sync'ing!! No matter what i do i cannot get it to connect to my work laptop and then the Exchange server!!

I have tried everything - deleting all settings on both lappie and phone to no avail.. i'm giving this another hour of messing about and then its hard reset time!! i need to sync more than anything else.

any bright ideas before i throw it through the wall?

Well I did do it but it had no effect on BT Activesync.

I am still able to sync - I'm not using an Exchange server - and am convinced that the process is faster. I too reckon that hard reset is my next option but it will have to wait till after my holiday.

I'm having the same problem, I unchecked the box because it was mucking up my router at home, then I rechecked it because I couldn't sync via my PC with the exchange server. Now it still says my internet connection isn't configured properly and wont connect via my PC! Grrrr <_<

Does anyone have any ideas? I really don't have time to do a hard reset and re-install everything.

It turns out that all I needed to do was browse in IE using my phone->PC->Internet connection to 'remind' active sync that it existed... I hate silly bugs like that!

hmmm interesting...

i have any number of problems with Active sync. I am now 'back' to syncing with the works laptop rather than the exchange server because the phone decided to keep telling me my Internet connection wasn't configured properly.. bl00dy thing! :)

does anyone have any ideas why syncing over an IPSec tunnel would be soo traumatic for the phone? it works fine when i'm at work on the LAN but as soon as i connect at home - it dont work!!! it did but decided to break and i cannot fix it!
