Guest davefrayne Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 G'day Guys, well.. My V1240 has almost died due to over use and glue (work) .. I've now moved back to Australia, but plan to buy either on ebay or from a company in the UK. Ideally id like to keep the same features as the sp5/v1240 - Ie - Wifi and WM5 etc etc I've looked at the Lobster based on how cheap it is, but really dont know if its worth it.. Now. The o2 Graphite looks good but again, not sure about the costs.. so.. could you please offer some advice on the next phone please peeps? Cheers in advance!
Guest mini_man Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 HTC VOX! Sorry didnt mean to shout that. The HTC Vox is the next smartphone and is actually a decent upgrade it seems with WM6 installed and the lovely 2.0mp camera whilst you also retain the functionality of WIFI etc. Ive just ordered a Lobster and it should be here sometime today but if your in australia the TV functions wont work I dont think however I belive that DAB will because you can select the different bands so it seems but if you depend on WIFI then I dont reccomend you purchase it as thats something it doesnt have! I dont think you can really compare the Graphite and the Vox because they run at different speeds, different OS's have different form factors. Hope this is miledly useful, looking back at what I have written it doesnt seem to be :S Sam

Guest magic_peanuts Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 ..any idea on who/where are selling these?! It's close between the Graphite and the Vox. Orange are the first to market with the Vox with the E650, although Vodfone have their equivalent coming shortly. Best bet is the network free HTC S710 available from here for £260.99 or on eBay. I personally hate the Lobster (also no WiFi) but you can pick one up for about £40 so definitely a good cost effective option. The O2 Graphite is smaller than both of these, 3G enabled and can be had for quite a bargain. I have to have 3G in my handset so I would pick this but more info on all three is available here: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&a...609&id3=663

Guest conan_troutman Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 the Graphite I believe is strictly an O2 contract phone...but i think it may retail also under the name of an ASUS jupiter some one will correct me as I pretty sure I got that wrong but hey i am woring from memory and I am very tired and i never really ever took an interest in the graphite
