Guest sutekinahito Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Please Help Me, I have i600 with all Phone, Eboot, en WiFI version i600DXGC2. I'm desperately to search USB modem driver for this phone. There's no option as Modem in start -setting - connection - USB. There are only two options whether Active Sync or External Media Only. I try to point the drivers on my companion disk but XP doesn't recognise it. The connection is only avaiable through Internet Sharing, but my service provider only provide number (just like ordinary modem) to access HSDPA service for data stream. Is it because my software version ? Should I upgraded to XXG2 / newer to get modem functionality ?. I have also tried to use BlackJack modem driver without good result Thanks

Thats should do, but my service provider use different account for data stream that you have to dial number such as *9*99 and APN name. That method should be no problem with USB Modem Dialer. But got no dialer in CD, Have tried to download HTC Modem Dialer but cannot find any modems connected. So I tought that other version which offer three modes of USB connection should be okay. In some version of I600 (not i607) that I've read, there are three options in USB mode "activesync, modem and Extended media ". So anyone with this three modes, please tell me what version are you currently use? is the problem will be solved by upgrade to higher firmware ?

Guest D.Samson Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 I have also been looking for a solution to this problem, after messing around with every single application in the windows directory I finally found the application that lets you enable or disable the external modem. It is a program called EMChanger.exe, it will probably be hidden by default in the windows directory "\Windows\EMChanger.exe". But you can add a shortcut to your start menu. I have included the shortcut I have, just whack this in your "\Windows\Start Menu\" folder on the handset. You can also create it manually by finding the application through activesync and creating a shortcut, then moving the shortcut to the Start Menu directory. I have no idea why Samsung did not include a shortcut to this program as standard, some users just need to use it as a modem. You will have to use the modem drivers as mentioned above. Hope this helps. modem.zip - I had to a zip file because it would not let me upload a lnk file.
