Question for Vox users on T-Mobile

Well i've just discovered the joke that is the new Orange data deals and decided to move over to tmobile. I noticed a recent post on here from someone who was having problems with the vox on tmobile when trying to use windows live. I plan to use windows live messenger quite a bit so getting this to work is a fairly crucial factor for me. Basically my question is to those on tmobile, have you got messenger to work ok? Was on the problem that was posted in the forum an isolated incident or is there a more common theme? Any advice would be very gratefully received. As i say if messenger doesn't work it's going to be a deal breaker for me

The post in the news section says that T-Mobile have started blocking IM traffic on their lowest WnW tarrif (£7.50 p/m) however there are some people who are not having any problems with there legacy contracts. I got a new contract and simply pay £12.50 p/m for WnW Plus which allows IM traffic as part of the agreement.

Thanks for the reply Harroguk but it wasn't actually that problem I was referring to (my fault, should've explained what I was talking about! ) The post I was referring to was '

'Got another odd problem here. My set up is...

HTC S710 (Hard Reset)

Installed UK_setup.exe And installed the settings for T-Mobile.

T-Mobile Sim only contract (£7.50 p/m with WnW Plus enabled to allow IM)

GPRS works correctly meaning that I can browse the web and download emails with no trouble.

Windows Live Messenger Mobile prompts for all the information as a normal setup would however when performing step 5/5 (Checking Internet Connectivity) it displays the message

Windows Live is unable to connect. the service maybe temporarily unavailable, or you may be in a place where data coverage isnt very good. Please Try again later

If I enable Wifi I can connect to WLM successfully with no errors.

The same error occurs with my wifes T-Mobile SIM card (which works with IM on her handset) inserted into my phone.

Anyone got any suggestions? It would appear to be a device setting is wrong somewhere. ''

However I've just noticed that was actually a post by yourself, and that you've now fixed the problem! Cheers

I uninstalled the NL-setup for T-mobile. Because the connection settings were not correct. I manually entered the connection details and have had no issues with Windows Live. i have the basic WnW in NL. for 9,50 Euros.

HTC's setup CAB installs a proxy, which causes WLM to fail.

Go into connection settings, delete the proxy and change the GPRS connection so it connects directly to the internet, and problem solved.

Bit silly of HTC...
