Guest Millar Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Hi guys, first post on Modaco! I have recently got myself a SPV E650 on a free contract upgrade from Orange. This is the first Smartphone I have had since the original SPV from Orange. I have bought myself a 2GB MicroSD card and I was just wondering if WM6 still has the same old problem of not being able to access sounds for the use of ringtones that are stored on the card. I believe that I used to have an application that would allow this for WM5 but I'm not able to find it now (it was a while ago!). Any ideas?
Guest Millar Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 I have just found out how to do it, the mp3 files needed to be on the route of the storage card. /storagecard/ Message alerts still need to be on the phones memory though

Here's a little trick for the registry so you may use any sound in your storage card Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\[event] and edit keys like in the following example HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0 You can also modify the sound will be played by changing/adding the "Sound" and "SavedSound" keys. Sounds in any folder may be chosen. Former keys may look like this: Sound="\My Documents\My Ringtones\sound.mp3" or "\Storage Card\folder\sound.mp3" (without quotes) Any notification sound can be customized using this method. Tested and working on my new Vox :P Hope it'll be helpful

All the *.wav,*.wma and *.mp3 files in there are all selectable for Ringtones in Settings > Sounds. All the *.wav files in this folder are selectable for notifications/error sounds etc. No registry editing required :)
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 as paholman has mentioned, if you put them in "My Documents" on your storage card then they are avalable by default. It's been like this since at least WM2003se.
