Guest Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Hello everybody, Thus not living in US I have an unlocked Tmobile Dash running WM6 into a quite exotic operator around the world (TIM/Brazil to be more precise). After synking my contacts for the first time I realized that mostly all of them have have Country/Area codes. The problem is that when dialling directly from the contact's number without providing an operator dialling code (like +1(516) 877-0000 or (516) 877-0000) I am unable to complete my calls. This happens even if I try to call o a contact within the same area code I'm currently located. Does anyone knows if exists a Dialer that can be configured not to dial contact's country/area code or if exist any workaround for this? tnx in advance.
Guest LiverpoolFCfan Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 (edited) If you store all of your contacts with fully qualified +CountryCode AreaCode Number Examples: +1(408)555-1212 (US number) +44(340)1112222 (UK Number) +353(1)1234567 (Ireland Number) etc, then wherever you are, the GSM network will automatically figure out what to dial. Even if you live in the USA, you should still store all your numbers as +1(aaa)bbb-cccc just in case you ever travel. That way the numbers are always ready to go. Guest SilliconValley Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 thats the problem.... by dialling +CountryCode AreaCode Number the SM network dows not automatically figure out what to dial... any other solution? :) I travel to Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) very often. I do have a HTC (Cingular 8525) and I having the same problem when I try to use my TIM Brazil SIM Card, Oi (Telemar) SIM Card or my Cingular SIM Card. TIM Brazil and Oi (Telemar) even both in the GSM network will not recognize my dialing when using country code (+) and area code (Assigned to my contacts ultimately by Microsoft Outlook). Independently of this possible issue with the local network, the dialing rules in Pocket PC will not to work. It would be much appreciated anybody could help me with this, I know that the same issue duplicates in Australia. Thanks. SV
