SPV e650 and WiFiFoFum ?

I've got a bluetooth GPS unit that I'm using with my new e650 and I'm using WiFiFoFum to plot WiFi networks on my drive to and from work. It works fine for about 10 minutes and finds networks but the e650's Wifi seems to keep turning off even though I've set it never to turn off both in the WiFi settings section as well as ticked the box in WiFiFoFum.

Once the screen goes blank (and the phone has beeped) if I press any key, the unit comes back to life, WiFi rescans and usually it finds another network which it then logs for me.

Any ideas why this might be happening ? Is this a bug and is there a work around ? Having to keep proding the phone to stop it falling asleep is getting rather tedious !
