Hi, my Trinity is reasonably slow...I run Pocketbreeze, SPB Shell and Wisbar LIte at the same time..I also used to run WAD but that made it even slower. The most frustrating thing is when I'm typing it takes ages for the letter to appear after I've typed it.

I was wondering, all my programs are store on my device rather than storage card, would it be faster to store then on the storage card? Also, are there any other ways of speeding this up!?

Yes, installing to Storage Card is a very good idea... I do it with everything that doesn't run 'all the time'.

Having said that too, PocketBreeze, SPB Shell and Wisbar Lite sounds like a fairly heavy combo too!

Hmmm yes, are there any other taskmanager apps? I can't live without a real close button and I still don't understand why even on WM6 it doesn't close the app!

I also forgot to mention I do use SPB Phone Suite too!

If you're looking for the "real close" button then there are a few alternatives out there. Google for "HTC X-Button". There's also Magic Button which is worth a try too. I use SBSH iLauncher for desktop shortcuts for my applications - and this includes a task manager with real close button.

I found that SPB Shell was a bit heavy on resources - sure it looks good but the tradeoff in terms of speed wasn't worth it in my opinion! I use SPB Phone Suite on a tab within Pocket Breeze and don't really notice any performance issues. From experience, the more Today plugins you have, the slower the device will run - it's just a matter of finding the right balance between functionality and speed!

And as for keeping things on Storage Card...as much as possible really. The only things I have had trouble with when installing to Storage Card have been applications that run on startup or are today plugins (Wisbar being one of the apps I had trouble with).

The Trinity is not an inherently slow device, and with the right combination of applications it can really fly.

With WM5 onwards, it doesn't really matter where you install apps, as long as you retain some free program memory. Frequenly accessed programs and today plug-ins should be in main memory if possible, and all others on the storage card. Luckily HTC were wise enough to use a MiniSD rather than the slower MicroSD cards in the Trinity.

Older devices were able to dynamically allocate memory between Program and Storage, so it was more important to keep the main memory as light as possible. With WM5/6 the 2 are separate, so there is no advantage in not loading stuff into Storage Memory- running programs exe's are loaded into Program Memory regardless of where they are stored.

SpB Mobile Shell does have a small memory leak, which can slow things down if not reset every day or so. Wisbar is also a known memory hog.

I've now reverted to the more limited, but very small O2 Plus but that may not be sufficent for many people's needs. It does contain an easy Task Manager on the tasktray, though no X button functionality.

I've flashed with the latest WM6 ROM, replaced Wisbar Lite with Magic Button, still using SPB Shell, Phone Suite, Time and Pocket Breeze, and it's a lot faster now! Must have been Wisbar, thanks!

Have you tried using any Alarms with SpB Time?

There is a problem with Time and WM6, which prevents alarms sounding- each alarm appears to be set twice, at the same time; the 1st wakes the device, but with no sound; dismissing that leads to the 2nd one triggering, with sound.

I's be interested if it works for you

I haven't used alarms for a while, but I think I installed SPB Time when I upgraded to WM6, and the alarms worked, so..yes, no probs with it.

I asked SPB about this, the response was SPB Time is not yet certified to work with WM6 -- the next version will.
