SPV C500 Sunset screen then turn off

Dear Modaco,

I bought a SPV C500 from eBay and I have some difficulty with it.

It does not turn on, either with just the battery or with just the charger, or with both. I am able to get it to turn on with the battery from another phone. It shows the sunset screen, but then turns off after a few seconds. I was able to get to the hard reset screen once or twice, but it switched off before I was able to press 0.

I would be very grateful if anybody could give me a hand at all,

Sounds like a dodgy phone unfortunately :/ Can you get into the bootloader? Hold record and power on if i remember correctly...
