Guest Chimpanzee Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Hi. At work we have a wireless network which relies on certificates for authentication. I have put the files I've been given (one named root.der and one named wireless1.p12) on a SD card in my device (WM5) but i have no idea what to do now. The wireless network is detected when i turn wifi on but that's as far as i've got! blush.gif I've been using WM devices for years but I know very little about networking and security. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Guest jimbouk Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 It should be simply a matter of double clicking the certificate to install it?
Guest Chimpanzee Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 Yes, that's how it works on a PC and how i assumed it would work on the PPC. But when i do that on the device it says there is no applications associated with the file blah, blah, blah. <_
Guest aholdt Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 Have your system administrator export the certificate in another format. Mine is in a format called .PFX (i think .CER will work as well). Then copy the certificate to your device, click on it and it will install. Regards Allan
Guest mr_end Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 It should be simply a matter of double clicking the certificate to install it? Another note: Ensure your device is app unlocked as it may require access to restricted APIs to install root certs.
