sms messages, where are they stored!

Hello all, some of you might have read that I managed to break my hermes, well the new one has arrived today and I have basically got it back to how my other one was. However the only thing that is missing is my sms messages off my old phone, have you guys got any idea where the text messages are stored in WM5? I can still expore my old phone through activesync so I was gonna just grab the appropriate file and drop it in the right place on my new phone, would this work?

Anybody got any ideas on this or maybe another way of doing it?

As far as I know, from reading up on forums trying to do the same. You cannot explore to a specific folder and just copy files, that isnt how it works as far as I know. I found a freeware tool called PIMBackup I think, over on the xda dev forums.

You have to back up before say hard resetting, I backed up just over a thousand sms's which took nearly 2 hours. This creates a small compressed file, ready to be restored after say you flash your device.
