Guest Paul (MVP)
Only one way to find out! Anyhow, on to tracking down that pesky T9 + WLM problem! P
Guest cadkins
Feedback as req'd. The phone definately seems to be more responsive now & (so-far) has not hung when jumping in & out of Wi-fi & other apps as it did before - famous last words..... Not sure whether this was the same before de-branding but two bad omissions I have seen moving from SPVC550 so far are: 1. In the Contacts on the phone you cannot make an entry private in Edit mode & would like a more company Address card type layout rather than the Noddy one it has. 2. Can't hold down 'Home' key to get Bluetooth & GPRS on/off features & Comm Mgr too long-winded for that. Any ideas?

Guest Paul (MVP)
I now have TT5.2 on my E650, and am trying to track down the activation code issue, but so far, not looking good i'm afraid  P
Guest cadaway
A while ago I app unlocked an SP5 and had exactly the same issue with TomTom. The device code changed and for a while I was unable to use the software. Like others here, I suspect that TomTom uses certain keys in the registry to generate the device code. Fortunately I was able to prove that I had purchased the SP5 and, after a bit of a battle, TomTom sent me a new activation code.

Guest Noonsy
Hi Paul, Thanks for the hard work with the debrander. Feels like I have a new phone!! I'm sure I have more available memory as well... One question, I installed 0.3 with Windows Live installed beforehand. Can I just apply the 0.4 (non debrand cab) or should I hard reset and install 0.4 debrander. Thanks again Rich
Guest Paul (MVP)
You can apply 0.4 over the top, that's fine. P

In the first post you'll also find the Fix pack (no de-Brand) version 0.5. This version can safely be installed over previous releases. P Hi Paul, I'm worried about this TomTOm Fix. I've battling with TomTom now for over a week trying to get a new activation code from the device ID I've supplied to them. The problem is, this Device ID was one generated AFTER I'd installed the Orange Unlock program, so may not be the true device ID. I've now installed Fix Pack 0.5, and as I'd feared, the Device ID has changed, to what I presume to it's true value, i.e what it would've been after a hard reset and before installing the unlocker. I can't give them another device code, I'm struggling to convince them the previous 3 I had were for the same device after ROM changes. I may just be an exception in this case though.... Would it be possible to seperate the fixes here, one for TomTom for those whose device ID was active before, and the other for XT9 fixes without TomTom? I guess I just use 0.4 fix, unless there are other fixes in there too? Edited June 15, 2007 by paholman
Guest Paul (MVP)
paholman, 0.5 is identical to 0.4 bar the TomTom change and the removal of the uninstall option. I'll send you a PM with more details... P

I'll send you a PM with more details... P Thanks Paul. Just a suggestion really....I think it would be better if page 1 were a little more obvious regarding changes between 0.4 and 0.5 fixes, especially as it alters device IDs. Does it only affect TomTom, or would other software, whose registration process is based on device id (Sniper for example), be affected too? There could be other users out there install this fix, not knowing about the Device ID change, and then notice some of their Apps be no longer valid. It may also be better if they were both still available for download on page 1, or even the "TomTom/DeviceID reverter" fix be completely separate and standalone. Only suggestions really.... Guest Paul (MVP)
True, although with 0.5 they'll be back to how they'll be without anything of course  P
Guest LiverpoolFCfan
Hmmmm.... something odd is going on. I've just checked the IMEI number on the box and also on the sticker on the back of the phone and when I check it on the phone itself I seem to have gained two extra digits (01) on the end. Is that even possible? Nothing to do with un de-brand process. I have a T-Mobile Dash in the USA and it too shows two extra digits in the IMEI when viewed through the phone menus. Not sure if it specifically a WM6 thing or if it was that way with WM5 too. I never looked before requesting a Carrier Unlock from T-Mobile a couple of weeks ago, and I was already on WM6 by then. Guest lsainsbury
How do I run this now? The zip contains an xml plus a load of other files....the pervious version was a cab - I knew that to do with that!
Guest Paul (MVP)
The download is a CAB not a ZIP - if you're seeing XML etc., you've opened up the CAB instead of installing it! P
