Win Mobile Device Center - arrgghhh!

Just bought a new Vista desktop and am struggling to get WMDC (ActiveSync's replacement) to work with my Audiovox SMT 5600 (running WM3). I need to sync with the PC (vs. the Exchange Server) but when I change the sync settings on either the Calendar or Contacts to do so, WMDC crashes and I need to delete the partnership and start all over again to get the system to even recognize my phone. Interestingly enough, setting up Tasks to sync via the PC works fine.

When WMDC crashes, I notice that I can no longer view my folders in Outlook and a message is posted that an application has crashed while accessing my .ost file.

As a matter of disclosure, I'm running PowerCalendar on my phone to manage calendar and tasks.

Please tell me I've not lost my ability to sync my phone!
