Does anyone know if AOL internet email works on the SPV, and what the settings are ?

I no longuer have an account... Have you tried their website? No reason why it shouldn't work.

As for POP3 access, so that you get the mail in Outlook, i don't think AOL offer that, but I'm not sure.

If they don't, then only the webmail will work.

I don't have an AOL account either, but I have found out that you can access AOL email via www.aol.co.uk but I don't know if this works on the SPV.

I was asked this question by someone that was thinking of buying an SPV.

Aol doesnt have this feature. I used Aol. I wanted to use normal dial up instead of the aol browser dialler, but it was not possible. So this would mean that the email is not POP3.

Yes, I used to use www.aol.com for webmail but as it had no spam filter, gave up on it.

I see no reason why their webmail should not work... but to be sure, why don't they g try it in a store? It's justbrowsing in'it?

Hi Florin!

Have you tried with a different device profile with WebWapSelect?

AOL email used to work, via a WAP link copied from my old phone. I guess the wapsite was accessed through GPRS, and AOL Mobile was available as a text based service only. This included email, buddy list, bookmarks etc. But since the UK update, I cannot access via the Wapsite anymore. It just says the site is not available. I tried on my old phone and it still works fine. But not on the SPV. Normal login from AOL.co.uk fails after login so now AOL email cannot be accessed. I have just decerted my phone via orange and I will try the WAP program mentioned above.

In AOL goto keyword 'AOL mobile' then click on the 'AOL on your Mobile' button, then 'sign up now'. Follow the steps, and you will be given a link at the end. Just type this link into the spv and voila you'll be able to sign in and check your emails. It's very rudementary, and is basically wap, but it does the trick. Quicker than browsing the website at any rate. Ohh and you can also sign onto your buddy list. BTW make sure you save the link as a favourite, be a b***h to have to type it in everytime
