SPV M3100 - WiFi Connection BUT no internet

Hey,

Yesterday my SPV arrived in the post, i hastilly unpacked it and tried to connect the the wireless network in my house. Took me a good 2 hours with a lot of help from this site (cheers).

Now that i have my spv connected. Its at a good strenght too. My internet wont work.

When i type in a website it says connecting, then locating. And then it tells me the page cannot be found and to check and try again. I spent most of last night and this morning trying to get it going with no luck.

Can anyone help? Im feeling quite let down after commiting to 18months. I dont understand why its not connecting when i have full signal strength. Dosent even work with GPRS.

could be DNS servers playing up, try visiting: http://208.69.34.230 (IP address for one of Google's frontend web-servers)

If that works, go to your connection settings and use OpenDNS

Start|Settings|Connections|Connections|Manage Existing COnnections|Edit|Next|Next|Advanced|Servers

IP Addresses needed are:

DNS: 208.67.222.222

Alt DNS: 208.67.220.220

(how sad is it that I know those from memory?)

If it doesn't work try setting your "Work Network" for both sets of connection options, disable Data Connection in Comms Manager, disconnect and then reconnect the wifi.

If that fails I would get orange to replace it.
