Guest The Dude Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Hi I have the Orange SPV M3100. It won’t get past the password screen. It keeps on locking up. Tried soft reset a few times no luck. I could hard reset but I want to save all my contacts and calendar appointments. It will connect to my laptop with active sync but no copy all the info over. My question is - Is there a specific file/files that hold the address book and the calendar appointments on the phone? - I can't seem to find it easily Or is there anything else to try? Thanks Tom
Guest Neil5459 Posted June 17, 2007 Report Posted June 17, 2007 If you can see the device contents in Explore, go to teh root of the device and look for PIM.VOL . This file hold all your contact/calendar/task information

Guest Neil5459 Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 One small gotcha is that you can't copy PIM.VOL directly back to your device once its rebuilt, as it is a system locked file. The way around that is to rename the version of PIM.VOL on the rebuilt device to PIM.OLD, then copy the old file back, and then wait a few seconds for the file to write to ROM, then do a soft reset. After that your old data should be accessible. I'm not sure if the dafault Pocket File Explorer will allow the renaming, but Resco File Explorer will.
