Guest reject Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 whats up modaco I just bought a solar charger I was hoping to use on a bicycle trip, but it did not work on my audiovox smt5600. I read about jumping pins 4 and 5 on the mini usb cable. After soldering my cable the phone indicates that it is charging for about ten seconds, then it reports a full battery. When I disconnect the charger the battery level drops down to its previous level. The charger outputs 5 volts and 350ma, so I thought it should work slowly. Is this just not enough amperage or is it more likley I screwed up on the cable? The charger is a solaruno 11. Thanks

Guest reject Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 http://www.modernoutpost.com/gear/details/...lar_uno_11.html It doesn't claim to work on all smartphones, but it does claim to charge blackberrys, Ipods, and PDAs. This one may have been a better bet. http://shop.treonauts.com/content/accessories/5-58--2100.htm It claims to charge smartphones. Plus it puts out 1 amp max.

Guest darkswitch Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 I've always found that the audiovox smt5600 has never liked my chargers very much. It would only work with the original and even though my other smartphones were compatible with my chargers. I sounds like you have hit the nail on the head with the amperage idea! (Is that even word? :)) wow i never even knew of a solar charger for smartphone. where did u get it? Theres solar everything these days! Just look on ebay.
