Guest hautarzt Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 (edited) hi, got this phone last week. i'm trying to like it, but there are some annoying problems (probably just my device, probably general problems): - battery holds for max 2 days: i have 10 minutes phone call max per day. no wifi running, no media player, nothing. basically the thing is on standby all the time. still. every hour i loose about 5% battery. no programs running, active sync set to manually. backlight off, keyboard locked, wifi, bluetooth off. my guess is , either wm6 needs more battery to sustain itself, or the handy "auto keyboard lock" app i installed drains the thing somehow". or the Facade app i use, ... - headphones: i remember, when i first started the thing up, i checked the headphones. worked fine. 3 days later i pug them in, plainly NOTHING happens. even though the phones reacts to the headphones buttons, as it begins to dial some random number when i repeatedly press them.... i also cant find any hands-free profile in the profile manager... but maybe some of the "tweak" apps i installed tampered with some vital xml files.. - silent profile: whenever i switch to silent, the sms notification is still playing a sound, even though its set to vibrate in the settings. whats happening here?? has anyone encounterd these problems? help appreciated! Guest conan_troutman Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 ok I can answer some questions though i do not have a vox (still running WM5 which I feel is far superior at the moment ) facade and autokey lock should not put a great drain on your battery not unless you have faced set to monitor the battery levels and such at short intervals...i would suggest remove all monitors if you use them in the launcher of facade and set monitor interval to never. see if that helps the battery life. headphones lets start this one backwards....there was never a headset profile for the vox nor is there a car profile, it will use what ever profile ou are currently in if your in silent it will be silent and if your in outdoor it will be loud and so on and so on. you should however see a headset icon in the icon bar at the top the random number it is dialing maybe something it has tried to dial while in your pocket before autokeylock engaged...clear your call history and see if it still trys the same number or dial a known number and see if tries to dial that instead. the SMS notification still playing is a new one I haven't heard of yet most people complian thet when they exit silent profile the reminder no longer sound ie they stay on silent (there is a fix for this if you find this happening) my guess would be a setting in your profile open and sheck the that it is not set to play and vibrate and that the sound level si set for notifiactions with in your silent profile. setting should be Notification type = Play sound or Vibrate Notification Volume= off next get a reg editor and go to. HKCU>Control Panel>Sounds>SMS make sure the string "category" is set to notification if not change it to do so then reboot. that should fix the SMS problem...if not holler back and we'll try another route.
Guest hautarzt Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 thanks for your reply i did a hard reset which fixed: - sms sound - headphones (no idea why it dint work before - but it was obviously software related) not fixed: battery. i can still comfortably watch the battery meter going down within mere minutes. (any refresh intervalls are set to "never"). "maniacs auto keylock" had a refresh setting too, allthough i*m not sure what is refreshing here. however, i got rid of it and stick to the not existing autolock of wm6. still . no effect here. maybe i should just get a new battery (since everybody else here seem to have no real problems with the battery life).
