Guest JampoTT Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 My phone keeps telling me its running out of space. I havent installed much, and what I do have is usually installed on the SD card (256mb)... so how can I find out what can be deleted because the last time I checked, it was saying I had 23k free on the phone!!
Guest HelloDave Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Have you checked if you've got thousand's of stored contacts, SMS/MMS's, e-mails or calendar entries? These are always stored on the phone in databases, which can get quite big - check the sizes of all the .vol files in IPSM and IPSMMAPI. If MAPI is big delete some MMSs or e-mails, and if the .vol files are big it's anything in your inbox or that gets synced with Outlook you want to look at. You can change how much data gets synced in ActiveSync - under settings, for example how many weeks of previous calendar entries you're syncing. Another obvious thing to check is IPSMMy Documents and your home screen and ringtone folders. Another option is just to restart the phone if you haven't done it recently - it can fix things sometimes!
Guest JampoTT Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 well the cemail.vol is over 800k intdb is over 400k lang is over 100k can these be deleted or what?
Guest HelloDave Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Try deleting some messages in your inbox/sentbox etc to reduce the size of cemail.vol (that's assuming Windows CE compacts its databases properly; you might need to restart your SPV to notice a change in filesize). You can delete cemail.vol, but that would delete all your messages, and might screw up the phone! I wouldn't worry about the size of lang - it doesn't store anything you can delete. initdb stores all the data you sync with Outlook, as well as favourites and a few other oddments.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Check IPSMApplication DataInstall (through all-explorer or smartexplorer) Remove anything you find
