dll issue

Hi guys... Been visiting this site for some time cos it has really helped me in my work.. I help support some 500+ M3100 devices for a local council...

Anyone heard of an issue related to ppcaa.dll???

PC running:

Windows XP (without SP2 - and can't be installed, long story!!!)

Lotus Notes 6.5

ActiveSync 4.1 (though tried 4.2 as well)

Device running:

Windows Mobile 5.0

CommonTime mSuite 4.3 (build 4.3.966) - to synchronise Lotus Notes with M3100

The PC won't run ActiveSync from startup, but needs to be run manually... It then takes ages to sync with the device (if at all)... The PC tries to install ActiveSync 4.2 (though no idea why)...

Under normal circumstances, M3100's have installed without ANY problems, but a small number have been getting this problem and each time that .dll has popped up - anyone know what it means??? I've Googled the .dll, but nothing...

Why can't you install Windows XP SP2? You should not have a PC on the internet without it as you do not get Windows Updates, and because of this I'm going to throw a wild guess at your PC is screwed and thats the cause of your problems.

My guess for you being unable to Install SP2 is that you have a illegal version of XP and even then its pretty easy to install SP2, so if you have legal XP and are unable to install SP2 it sounds like your PC is screwed big-time and you should re-install XP.

firstly, this isn't to do with illegal software...

the PC isn't "screwed", the PC works fine...
