Best Deal for s710? Also Blackberry concerns....

Okay...had the C500 (orange) and now the MDA Vario (Tmobile). I want to go back to a small phone but not loose the full qwerty keyboard so therefore the VOX s710 looks like it will fit the bill.

however only orange offer this phone on a contract..right??

Additionally, I want to hook up whatever new phone I purchase to my company's BES. Has anyone succesfully connected the s710 (in the UK) to a company BES using the Blackberry Connect client?

I found this link: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=blackberry as well as some half baked success stories for some dudes in Italy (found on xda-developers).

Another question: I imagine I would need to add the Blackberry subscription to the monthly contract, right? So i would be paying for voice, data (for surfing) in addition to the BB subscription?

If anyone can point me towards a good deal I would be happy. If someone could reassure me that I can get the bbconnect client working successfully with my firms BES, i would be estatic.

cheers.

Vodafone are supposed to be bringing it out, and either O2 or T (can't remember which)

No idea when it comes to Blackberry, sorry

As I assume that you want to connect to your companies BES because you want to access your work email on the go then there may be another option.

Assuming that your company has Outlook Web Access in use (most do) then you can connect your S710 directly to that using Active Sync over your GPRS or WiFi connection.

This is not a browser connection. Windows Mobile is able to pull your mail down off the OWA server over the same HTTP connection with the same authentication information. You can then get most of the functionality as you would get with Blackberry but without the cost and from directly within WM.

So hook your S710 up to your PC. Go into Activesync and select the sync directly with Exchange server option. In the fields use exactly the same info as you use to get to your OWA and BINGO.

Works a treat for me whilst the other guys in the office who have Blackberrys look on in envy :-)

Good suggestion however our firm only provides OWA after VPN Authentication using RSA tokens...ugh. hardly going to find a WM VPN client supporting that (though I'd love to be wrong!!). :)

As T-mobile dont offer the s710 device, Im going to renew my contract, get a free phone and sell it using the funds to buy the s710 outright.

What's the most "expensive" phone to easily hock off on eBay? That new Nokia 5mp thing (N95)???
