Network Administration Tools?

I have recieved a 8525 as a replacement for my blackberry at the office. I have also been provided with the Netmotion VPN client to establish a VPN session back in. As the network admin. primarily responsible for the Cisco side of things one of my main needs is to be able to SSH into various devices.

I was hoping to reach out to those more familiar with these devices and software to seek recommendations on applications fall into this realm of things.

I have search and found some info, but I would prefer to seek user opinion/recommendations then to just go by what a website says.

Thanks in advance.

You could try PocketPuTTY - http://pocketputty.net - it now seems to work with WM5+ devices and has recently(-ish) been updated to be a closer match with v0.60 of the desktop version. I've used it myself, but only to see if it worked (and it did :)), but I don't know how it would cope in a real-world situation.

There is another one caled mToken, from http://www.choung.net/mToken/ - I think a couple of other people on MoDaCo have experience of that one; I've never tried it myself. Finally, there's a package of network tools called VxUtil - http://cam.com/vxutil_pers.html - that you might find useful too!!

Cheers,

Mark.

I read this topic and immediately thought mToken + vxUtils :)

Another vote for mToken from these quarters, it's a much more polished app than PocketPutty is at the moment. The font used is really good and the key/address book management is really slick.

It even comes with a port forwarding via ssh app that can open up some useful possibilities if needed.

Pocket Putty, whilst looking promising (especially with the first new version in ages), provides some problems on the Hermes, specifically with some key mappings etc.
