Full Hard Reset Problems :(

I feel like I'm going to cry! :cry: I had a few little 'niggles' with my spv, so thought I would update it with the update off the official orange.net. I havn't got my cradle with me, so thought I would be clever and do it via IR.

BUT...

as it updates, it restarts the phone and looses the connection (tip to everyone about this updating USE THE CRADLE!!)

I lost everything and my SD card was messed up to. So I formatted the SD card on my laptop (sd card reader) and now I have nothing to hard reset from!

Can anyone tell me where I can download what was on the original orange SD card, so I can hard reset it and get it working?

I would be so gratefull with anybodies help as I really want to get it working without sending it back to orange!

ok... I've found and downloaded the sd-card data, unzipped it and put it onto the sd card.

Went through hard reset and after i erase the ispm data, it tells me 'passed', then I go to end. This then takes me to the three colour canary PV screen. I turn off, take of batt, wait for 30 secs then power back up.

It just tells me card loaded and asks if I want to enter the DIAG screen again. Isn't this the part where it boots up??

Please, I'm begging now (well, almost :lol:)

Someone please help me??

I'm not quite sure what you've been trying to do, but the DIAG screen bit should only appear if you hold down voice record when you power on to enter the bootloader. Does it work if you power up normally?

when I boot up, it comes up with...

Card Found,

then...

press any key to enter boot loader

(- if I do that, it's the canary PV screen)

or...

press and hold action key the enter DIAG

(-this is where I did the hard reset and it passed)

This is all comming up when I turn it on, I'm not holding any record button on the side or anything

Any ideas, can you guide me through a hard reset, the way you guys do it? I'm following the guide off 'smartphonestuff.com' to a T and it's gotten me here :lol:

What are you trying to do? finish the update?

If so forget the SD card and leave it out of the Phone. just do the update All over again from the first step ...

I'm not trying to finnish the update, the phone is wiped, it has no start of updat on it. I just want to be able to use it again, put it all back to how it was.

Thats why I tried hard re-set, yet it's gone wrong :lol:

I want the phone back to how it was when I first took it out of the box, without having to send it back to orange.

A partial Update leaves the phone with no Os ... sounds like that is Your problem : phone does not even boot!

the best way out is to do the update over from the start... This Re -installs the Os.

Back to out of-the box.

Ok everyone. Got it sorted. I put the update on it via the cradle, now it's back to working order... sort of :lol: Time to mod it now.

Thanks for all your help, I won't be a stranger to this forum now, found loads of usefull stuff here.
