Guest darkswitch Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 Hii! I'm back *hears the groans* with 2 problems and I need your help. Firstly my Wizard has developed this strange habit where I have to remove the Storage Card to get to Messaging?? I have no idea why its doing this but hopefully someone does?? Secondly, a friends mother also owns a Wizard but it in true o2 form, e.g WM5 o2 ROM etc. I have a Xda Mini S mobile, O2 service provider.I entered a password, which I have forgotten, the phone will not switch off unless I remove the battery the phone only receive calls and no access to vmail or texts I tried to down load the information from the phone to the computer and it is asking for a password, which I have tried entering but the message comes upwrong password. [*]I have removed the sim card and turn the phone on, soft re-set it at the side of the phone, but nothing seem to work . Is there any way you can get it to work, so that I can at least download the information from the phone. From this, I can only assume she means that she blocked her phone as she entered the PIN Code wrong? She obtained a PUK Code and needs to enter it and I'm guessing thats where shes having the problem because she doesn't know where to enter it. Has anyone ever locked themselves out of there phones on Modaco that could shed some light on the process of entry? Thanks!
Guest darkswitch Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Ok, gave in and hardreset and formatted my card. Messaging works fine now. Ok 54 views and no replys? No one on this forum has ever blocked there PPC'S? I find this hard to believe.

If a PUK code was needed, the the Unlock screen would appear immediately the SIM started to initialise, so that is a less likely scenario. The phone's behaviour suggests the OS has become corrupted; looks like that phone may be needing a hard reset as well! Glad you got yours sorted though :)
Guest darkswitch Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 hmm, ok then so corrupted os thats not so good. Surely if she can get to her OS there is a reg edit to bypass the PUK awful I know that I ask but she's quite high up in her job and urgently needs these files.
Guest Mysterious Stranger Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 From this, I can only assume she means that she blocked her phone as she entered the PIN Code wrong? Nope. If it receives calls, the sim isn't blocked. If it won't sync to a p.c without entering a password or allow you acces to calender etc, the handset has a password lock, set eitther during the initial setup of the handset or afterwards, and specific to the handset not the sim i.e put your own sim in ther and it will behave the same way, take the sim out and it'll behave the same way. It isn't 'corrupt' it's *meant* to work this way. Unless they can remember it only option to use the handset again is a hard reset. Problem is it can be alphanumeric unlike a simcard pin. M.S
Guest darkswitch Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 ook then sucks for her but I guess that the price for putting a password you have forgotten in! Thanks guys :)
