Guest VodaSPV Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Hi. Yesterday I dropped my SPV very badly on the road whilst running. It is badly scratched very colse to the universal connector at the bottom of the phone. Luckily no scratches on the screen though. But the speaker seems to have broken. I can hear a part moving when I shake the handset and and the voice of the other side I am talking to breaks up very often as well. I was just wondering because I have not had the phone for more than a month or 45 days; will it be possible to get a replacement from Orange as the phone should be under guarantee? Or how do I go abouts getting the speaker sorted out. Only reason I am asking this is because I am having trouble finding my receipt. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest martin Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I would imagine that this would be covered by insurance rather than gurantee ? Did you take out orange care with the phone ? If you're not sure, give customer services a call for details of your account. (that assuming the phone was bought through orange) or are you using the vodaphone account only.
Guest VodaSPV Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 The SPV was bought on my cousin's contract. He had an upgrade available so I got him to upgrade to the SPV as I was interested in it. I've found out that he did NOT take Orange care out when he purchased it. I unlocked the phone to use my normal Vodafone SIM. I will try and go with him (my cousin) to the Orange shop. Hopefully they will rectify the speaker as I am pretty sure the SPV should be under some sort of guarantee.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 You will probably have to take out emergency Orange care, 30 quid up front and then a fiver a month thereafter. One little point: Make sure you put the original Orange SIM back in when you go back, apparently Orange can be difficult if the damage happened with a different SIM in....
