Disabling notifcations

Hi

Any idea how you disable the notification menu on the M700/Trinity (or any PPC phone really!) for when you get an email etc? I have disabled the popup message but it still changes the contacts button in the bottom left into a ‘notification’ meaning you have to click on it and press ‘dismiss’.
