Guest MBoden Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 yesterday Will asked me if i could do a telnet client so blame him  get it Here MBoden
Guest martin Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I can't seem to download the file. Anyone else having problems ?
Guest MBoden Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 my server might have been a bit busy, should be ok now MBoden
Guest cyrilthefish Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 yay! thats brilliant! one minor niggle, it does seem to mess up some characters, not sure if it's the app or just the phone itself doing it. heres a screenshot: keep up the good work! P.S. any chance of a FTP client? that would be really handy!
Guest pisquee Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 If we're gonna go for an FTP client - why not go the whole hog and get an FTP server running, and then a web server - have a whole domain running from an SPV infact i reckon modaco should be run from a dedicated SPV ;-)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I like it "yesterday I was asked" nice work, now I'll have to find a reason to use it ;)
Guest MBoden Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 cyrilthefish> the messed up characters are formatting characters used for setting color/position and such, the emulation that would react to formatting would take a fair bit of time to do and it wouldnt show correctly on such a small screen anyway. MBoden
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Welcome back MBoden, not heard from you for a while. Hope everythings going alright for you now  Nice one for the telnet app, how long until ssh? ;p
Guest foxy11 Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 v nice ;). /me needs loadsa stuff like this , FTP client is on the top of my list tho :( thx a lot!
Guest jonnyb Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 I cannot get this to work! Run the program enter host details (tried both IP and name) set Port and press connect and nothing happens.... Am I missing something? Thx
Guest v1nn1e Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 I am not sure but i think you have to open a gprs connection for it. Load up a page using internet explorer then run the program.
Guest MBoden Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Yeah v1nn1e , that's correct, i'll fix that later, if the security allow it MBoden
Guest Beardyboy Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Weird stuff happens when I try to connect to a bulletin board system I use... I have a feeling it's a setup issue at their end, since all I get when it connects is a "y" with an umlaut, a "y" with an accent and a percent sign.
Guest MBoden Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Beardyboy > i think what happens is that the bulletin board checks to see which terminal emulation the telnet supports, and my telnet support none Do you know which terminal type the board requires ? (VT52/VT100 and so on ) MBoden
Guest SANDMAN Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Could someone give me some Telnet addresses to try.... just a few. I cannot get it to work (i have a webpage loaded and a GPRS connection). Thanks
Guest Beardyboy Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Beardyboy > i think what happens is that the bulletin board checks to see which terminal emulation the telnet supports, and my telnet support none Do you know which terminal type the board requires ? (VT52/VT100 and so on ) MBoden As far as I can tell the board is capable of talking to ANSI, VT52, VT100, XTERM etc etc. If you can be bothered, try connecting to muon.mono.org on the standard port 23.
