Guest paulmottley Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Sorry, I've done a search but drawn a blank. I wanted to play some new games but can figure out where to put the roms! Please help as I'm dying to play 1942 again! Also, do you think anybody will port 'Elite' , that would be nice
Guest Vector Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I just put them in the gnuboy folder on the sd
Guest paulmottley Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I tried that, I'm using the 'smartnes' emu when I run the program I get a blank screen with menu option'file' then open rom- but I've no rom listed! I've got the 1942 rom in various places but it can't find it!!!
Guest Vector Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I haven't tried smartnes so i wouldn't know about that, but i would've thought it would be the same as gnuboy
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Are you sure you are not trying t use SuperNEs ROMs on the NES Emulator? Are they in some compressed format? Could you give us the file extensions soz we can check?
Guest paulmottley Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I have 1942.nes as the rom file and smartnes.exe as the main program.
Guest dan.peterson Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Think I might be having a similar problem. Have put the roms in the same directory as the .exe but it says ""gnuboy is not a valid CE product". I have only unlocked by the orange on air one, and it said it had work.? I think. Sorry to be dumb, its only my second day on the job- so to speak. an another thing: how do you make shortcuts to the menu. Really can not figure it out (btw got that message from all explorer if that makes a difference) Cheers for any help/ DP
Guest Emad Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Use your computer to go to my computer/mobile device and right click on the thing you want to make a shortcut to. Then click on create shortcut. Then cut it and paste it to the ipsm/windows/start menu dir. Also, see if something like notbad/task manager works to see if your phone is properly unlocked. Paul, it may be that your rom is corrupt - try another nes rom in the same dir as smartnes.
Guest paulmottley Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 will have a go later, rugby has just come on!!!
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I have 1942.nes as the rom file and smartnes.exe as the main program. Sounds about right... Works on mine.
Guest paulmottley Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 England win!!! Yeah. Still doesn't help me, cant get it to work!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Don't the nes ROM's need to have a different extension...? * looks...
Guest paulmottley Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Arggh. Still no joy - going to give up soon
Guest Emad Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 You had and old version of SmartNES, I've sent you the new one - look at monolithix's page if it doesn't get to you
Guest Emad Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Odd - you have version 1.2, right? (it says SmartNES 1.2 on the main screen in big letters)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...=14443&start=15 About 1/3 down page 2. NES ROM's need to have .smc and .fig extensions....
Guest Emad Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 No mono, thats SNES roms. NES rom's run with .NES extensions. Its odd because I ran 1964 fine on my phone with the file I sent paul (smartnes 1.2). Both of them in a directory on the storage card called SmartNES. Try deleting teh SmartNES registry key in HK current user/software (or was it HKLMSoftwareSmartNES) - the old version leaves some crap there I think. Hope that works.. Make sure you remove the non 1.2 version too.. And the .txt file it creates.. Phew..
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Oops my bad, sorry. Just looked over the thread again and i must have been asleep, jesus. Apologies for confusing things
