the reason i ask this is cause you never know what they will do. they may relize they can make money off of the gps. hopefully it will just be a ROM that disables it and we can just install a new one and bring it back :). that only is IF they decide to do this.

I aee no way that they can charge you for it none of us other GPS users get charged when using a BT GPS unit so why would they charge for a built in one. if they did you would just buy another phone and use a BT GPS at no charge and then they lose

No I think the OP meant charge for the functionality to be enabled, not whilst it is in use. Sort of pay $49, get a rom update etc etc like when the Trinity (?) launched with GPS disabled.

Anyway, I hope they don't. Doesn't matter though as I'm sure a hack will be created if they do ;-)
