Turning off next word prediction

Is it possible to keep the xT9 feature of the Dash but turn off the next word prediction feature?

In a text box with xT9 turned on, press Alt-Space, then choose ABC from the menu. This setting is saved as the default input method.

I was under the impression it was under the xT9 settings or preferences, rather than turning xT9 off completely...

Udri01, that's not what I am asking. I want to keep the T9 suggestive text input. I just don't want the next word prediction option. IE when I type "hello" it does not try to predict that my next words will be "how are you".
