I am just about to upgrade to a HTC TyTN with Vodafone, but looking at their T&C's regarding their data package, the data package doesn't allow for the use of VOIP or IM packages (Skype, MSN Messenger, etc). These services are charged at £2 per MB, which is a bit harsh.

Check out the package details at this link, paying attention to the conditions at the bottom of the page:

Vodafone Mobile Internet

I can only justify the use of these services when I am at home or work where wifi is available anyway, hence I will not be opting for the data pack on my new contract.

The flat rate data pack allows you up to 120MB across the month. If you use all your 120MB in a month, you'll default to the standard £1 per day charge for the rest of the month.

Bargain! So for the 500Mb/ month I regularly use I would only get charged £387.50

And I couldn't use live messenger?

Thank the gods for T-Mob!

Well that has made my mind up, T-Mobile here i come.

Now i need to decide weather to go now or wait for a new device to appear first. hmmmmm I quite like the MDA mail (excalabur) and it is a free one on the contract that i want.
